OT-Question For PA campers

Hi. I've noticed that there are a lot of campers from Pennsylvania, and I was wondering if you could help us. Right after we get back from FW we want to take our youngest to Sesame Place for his birthday--we couldn't do it at Disney this year. Are there any campgrounds around there? I know it won't be FW, but we were hoping to spend the night. Thanks!

Sorry, I don't know of any campgrounds near Sesame Place but have you considered Dutch Wonderland? I have heard some bad reviews about Sesame Place lately (dirty, crowded etc). I think there is a thread about it on the budget board. Dutch Wonderland is a small amusement park and water park in Lancaster. We try to go each summer. There is a nice campground right next door called Old Mill Stream. Here is the website www.oldmillstreamcampground.com.

Thank you so much! We haven't been to Sesame Place in about 13 years, our oldest is 14. Our youngest is 2. We go to Hershey all the time, but have never been to Dutch Wonderland. We will look into it!

I live in Bucks County about 45 minutes away from Sesame Place. Sesame Place is in a rather congested area of Bucks County. THere are no campgrounds in the area. The closests campgrounds would be in upper central bucks and upper bucks area. We go to a place called Beaver Valley Campground all the time. In fact i have been going there since i was a kid. I am now almost 47. http://www.campbeavervalley.com/Beaver_Valley/Welcome_to_Beaver_Valley_Campground.html If you can get a map of bucks county, Sesame Place is in lower bucks in Langhorne. THere are other campgrounds near Beaver Valley including Colonial Woods, Quaker Woods. IF you want a hotel, there is a Sheraton right across the street from Sesame Place. I like Beaver Valley because it is a quiet family oriented campground. It is clean, large sites, well kept and they dont put up with any nonsense. Colonial Woods is also nice, but it is usually more crowded. They do have more things for the kids including minature golf. I have not been to Quaker Woods in many years but the last time i was there, it was not in good shape.

I live ten minutes from Sesame. If I were you, go to Knoebels or Dutch Wonderland. MUCH better. Sesame is way over priced and not what it used to be...Very crowded and not too clean. We go to Knoebels and Dutch Wonderland now.

And yes, no camping near by, just a mall

I also live very close to Sesame. I haven't been for a few years but drive by all the time. Still looks clean on the outside, lots of flowers, etc. There is a WalMart not too far away (Levittown I think) and you can usually "camp" there overnight in the parking lot. It is probably 5-10 minutes away. You could always ask the Sheraton to park there too. Sometimes hotels are good about that.

On the topic of Dutch Wonderland and Knoebels. I hear they are great too, with camping.

I would agree with the other posts. If you go to Dutch Wonderland use Old Mill Stream right next door great campground. For Knoebels we like to stay @ J&D Campground just up the road it has full hookups and seems to be nicer then tha campground @ Knoebels even though they are always ful @ the park campground.

The campground at Knoebels is very hard to get into you. You more or less have to wait for a cancellation.

This will be our 7th year camping there. We like staying there so we can walk to the park and it's great to hear the rides at our campsite. I wouldn't trade it for the world. It's kinda like the feeling of staying onsite at Disney. You do it for the convenience and magical experience.
