I applied for a job at the place I currently volunteer. I really want this job - it would be new for me but I can use my previous experience; I already volunteer there so I know the people; it's only 10 minutes from home; it's right across the street from my gym; I am truly committed to this cause (it's a non-profit). I had an interview on Tuesday with the supervisor. We met for over an hour and went over everything. I thought it went well. Today I had a second interview with her 2 bosses. It was short! I mean like 20 minutes short! They did say that the supervisor really liked me and I have 3 other recommendations from people I volunteer with. I'm trying not to read too much into the briefness of the interview. They asked if I was available to start right away and said they're hoping to have the job start the second week of February. They also said I was their first interview and they have others scheduled next week. DH says it's all good and not to stress about it, but I'm super anxious about this because I really want the job and haven't interviewed in so long (haven't worked full-time since 2007!).

Any Pixie Dust would be greatly appreciated!

Don't stress it. Short is good, that means they didn't need a lot of info from you because they got it from other sources.
Are they flexible with the baby stuff that's going on??

Lots of good thoughts and pixie dust:wizard: heading your way. It sounds like both interviews were good. I hope you hear good news soon!!!!!

Good luck. Put out positive energy- get
positive energy. It's all good!!!!!!

Tons of PD for you, Jennifer!! I truly hope you get the job. Though if you start the second week of Feb that means we won't be able to see when when I come down.

Keep us posted. I have a good feeling on this one! How could they not love you? :goodvibes

Sending bunches of pixie dust your way!! I'm sure it's great!!

Good luck - we will all be thinking about you:goodvibes

Aawww, thank you all so much! You've made me feel more relaxed! I wrote my thank you notes this morning. The manager is going on vacation in the next couple of weeks so I just have to be patient and hope I hear good news in February. I'll keep y'all posted!

Buffy - I didn't bring up the adoption, and legally they can't ask. I don't know how much they know because, while I obviously talk about it during my volunteering, I don't currently work directly with this department. I'm taking a "cross that bridge when I get there" approach.

Lisa - Will you be staying over on a Sat. or Sun? We can still come over on a weekend or a Friday night!

PO3 - You're absolutely right - positive energy out and positive things will come back!

Thanks again for all the Pixie Dust - I feel better knowing I have so many cheerleaders :goodvibes

We are flying down late on the 14th and leaving early on the 20th. As of this afternoon, I think DH is driving down with his buddy to go to Daytona, DD and I are still planning on flying down.

Rebecca may be coming up Tuesday. My loose plans are doing MK that day.

pixiedust: coming your way, Jennifer!
It's it's meant to be, it will work out!

Marylee :)

I got the call this morning . . . I got the job!!

:woohoo::banana::cheer2::dance3::cool1:

Have to do all the paperwork and background check and then I'll start in 2 weeks! Being a non-profit the pay is far from great (very far!) but that's not the main reason I applied. I LOVE this organization and I know having a full-time job will keep my mind off obsessing about the adoption.

Thank you all for all the P&PD!! I think it definitely helped :grouphug:

That's just terrific! Congrats!!!

I used to be the CEO/Executive Director of a non-profit organization. It was tough not being able to pay good folks a lot, since that is the nature of that beast, but I tried to make up for it with a great work environment. We had VERY little turnover and I was blessed with a terrific, hardworking, and dedicated staff.

So glad things are working out! :dance3:
