This one is a *monster*.

Prayers for all in the path of this terror.

Major prayers going to all of those who are having storms this spring... :grouphug::grouphug:

That was about 45 minutes away from my house and where DH & I went to college. This tornado plus many others have caused 53 known deaths in AL today. The death toll is expected to rise. Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers. It has been a very scary day for all of us today!

Unbelievably scary! The picture of the tornado is so huge it doesn't even look real. I really hope everyone stays safe who is in its path.

This tornado thing is really crazy this year. I live in Raleigh I believe we had 24 of them in one weekend.

As of this morning the death toll in Alabama alone is 128. It is heartbreaking watching it on the news & hearing stories from family & friends of people who have lost loved ones & of those who are still searching for others.

Prayers to everyone in the souttheast storm path. We had some wicked weather in Central Indiana, but certainly not on the scale of Alabama and Mississippi. We had some major straight line winds come through topping out at around 60MPH. Trees and limbs down, but not too much more than that.

Anyone know what the EF rating was of the tornado in the picture? Looks like an EF3.

No definite rating yet but estimated to be a 4 or 5.

Terrifying stuff. I live two miles from where those big ones hit Va a couple of years back. A school in Farmville Va got a branch of that storm yesterday where my older brother is in school. Prayers certainly go out to those in Alabama as the death toll is rising all too fast.

This is just horrifying. Whole neighborhoods, most of a city, just wiped out. Scary, scary, scary!

My prayers go out to those affected by this awful occurrence!

Sayhello

My heart is breaking for those involved in this tornado. just so awful and sad

I'm from Tuscaloosa but haven't made it home yet! I work out of town during the week. I'm heading home tomorrow afternoon to open my home to a family of 5 to come and live who lost everything! They have 3 kids and had to be dug out of their basement but atleast they are unhurt and alive!!! The Mom (my DD's BFF) is at the local hospital with a kidney stone of all times but you can't time illness! The damage from all reports is unreal. Places I've known and loved my entire life are gone.I went to Sam's Club today to pick up supplies they will need for atleast a short time. My daughter is collecting clothes from NJ and driving down so she can help them get back on their feet a bit. Please keep your prayers coming!!! They are still digging out and finding bodies. The last time I talked to my Dad a 5 year old girl had been found (dead) and no word of who her family were or if they perished too. My son is a police officer and has been too busy to return the one call I tried today. His wife is a nurse and I know already she is swamped! If you care to make a donation I know the red cross would be willing for any help. I also know clothes quickly became a problem for the Salvation Army to handle after a short time because of cleaning and storage. We had a bad tornado in 2000 and how I know this. As I hear more I'll post more!

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone down there!!!! I lived in Birmingham for 20 years and I don't remember it ever being this bad so soon in the season!!! I am trying to get together supply's and ship them down there they are in need of many thing la such as clothing all sizes, baby supplies.... If you could help please send supplies!!! There is a Facebook page set up called toomer's for Tuscaloosa and they have many adresses to send things to!!

It's good of you to give those people a place to stay.

I almost hope that little girl's parents died, too. I know I would rather be dead than get that kind of news.

Stuff is just stuff. We like it, we work hard to buy it, blah-blah-blah, big whup. Yeah, some of it has sentimental value, but in the end it is just stuff. And we can always get more stuff. But you can't buy a new daughter or get something else to take her place. My heart just breaks for those people...and for the little kids who will be told that mommy is dead.

It's all so sad.
