We are taking our trio to see Peter Pan this weekend (with Cathy Rigby). We have the Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, and Peter Pan costumes. Would you dress your kids up? It's the Saturday matinee and billed "for kids and families". The kids want to, but I don't want them to be the only children there in costumes.

FYI: I did take my DD to see the Cinderella ballet (at the same theater) 2 months ago. She wore her costume, and almost every girl there had on one.

Thanks for any opinions!

I would leave it up to the child. I would not make my child dress in costume.

We saw the show when it was just in Phila - it was WONDERFUL !!! DNeph (7) wore his peter pan hat from his costume and had a blast. I don't remember seeing any kids in full costume, but I don't think it would have been out of place if they were and wanted to be ! - Enjoy!! :smooth:
PS: as we were driving by the theater after getting our car, Cathy Rigby was out signing autographs at the side stage door - I wish I had thought to wait for her and get a pic of DNeph with her (how cute would that be if your kids decide to wear their costumes?!) - we did do the themed dinner beforehand and the actors playing Wendy and Slightly were there and I got a great pic of him with them!

Thanks for the tip about waiting afterwards for Cathy Rigby! My trio are so excited to go (me too)! I'm glad it was good. They all love to dress up, and wear their costumes at home all the time. I think I'll let them wear them (with shorts, etc underneath), and then if they want to change, they can.

Thanks again!

I would go for it.

A little OT but I dressed my girls up for the knock off show of Beauty and the Beast that GPs took them to. Many people said how cute they were and they even got their pictures with the stars (in thier costumes). Only one other girl was dressed up my Mom said. I think it just added to the magic of the night.
