My wife and I went to the concert last night. I have to say it was the highlight of my life I think. I'm 35 and missed the Beatles obviously but I have always wanted to see one of them in concert, especially Sir Paul. It was easily the best concert I have ever seen.

I have pics on Facebook if you want to see. (I'm listed in that facebook thread here)

Anybody else go to it or have been to one in the past?

Being from the same city as the Beatles it's always nice to hear about them around the world.

My mum went to his concert at Anfield (home stadium of Liverpool FC) to celebrate Liverpool being European Capital of Culture for 2008 and said it was great - he played some songs with Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and that was apparently incredible!

:goodvibes

Did it rain on you?

My DH has been to several of his concerts in Atlanta. He decided not to go to that show because ticket prices have gotten out of hand lately.

He enjoyed the shows he's gone to in the past.

It rained pretty hard for about 15 minutes. Tickets at 70 bucks for a normal show are bad but for Paul McCartney, a bargain.

I was there with you, standing in the rain. It was a great concert. For 67yo, he is starting to look his age, but was really enjoying himself, and his voice sounded fantastic.

We were about 30 feet from the stage, so we had an awesome view but could also see the screens really well.

Got totally soaked, but were dried off enough by the end of the show to walk up to the Vortex and have a couple of burgers and wait for the MARTA traffic to decrease.

We saw Crosby, Stills, and Nash two nights later at Chastain. It rained again, but not as hard or as long.

That's a fairly reasonable cost - DH paid at least £70 (about $110) to see The Police and when we saw Paul M. at Earls Court we paid around £50 each a few years ago.

He was excellent and it was great to see a legend :thumbsup2

I attended his concert in Halifax Nova Scotia on July 11 - it was his opening date on this North American segment of the summer tour.

I bought the tickets as a Father's Day gift for my Dad. I was born in 73 and grew up with the Beatles and Wings. They were the soundtrack to my childhood thanks to my Dad, who adored McCartney.

If it hadn't been for my Dad, I am not sure I would have gone. And wow...what I would have missed. It was hands down the best concert I have ever attended. (Sorry Coldplay).

I agree with you - it *was* a total highlight of my life too. Especially sharing it with my Dad.

I am not sure if he sang Mull of Kintyre during his concert dates in the States. Probably not as it is likely a UK and Cdn thing. In Halifax, he was joined onstage in Mull of Kintyre by about 100 bagpipers and drummers from the 78th Highlanders. (They come in about 1:50) Here it is on you tube if you want to take a peak. Unfortunately you just don't get the thrill of seeing it live - doesn't even come close. But worth a peak anyway.
