I could not believe I was on the ToT ride BY MYSELF. I HAD to buy the photo! When would that ever happen again?

I'll tell ya -- it was creepy.
Right before the first drop you can REALLY hear the cable snap and whip around -- then DROP ya go. (Along with piped in screams. )
But it did give me the creeps. I kept thinking someone was going to tap me on the shoulder.
It was fun though!

Since no one was with me, I also snapped some photos in the library. They came out pretty good. If anyone wishes to see them, I will post them later this week. The next two nights will be busy.

Why were there no other people in your car?? Surely the ride couldn't have been that empty. If it was, that is a rare treat. I've never seen the rides that empty.

I was able to do some of my errands rather quickly after work tonight. So here is my story an ToT photos.
Dh ran the inaugural ToT 13k race last Saturday evening, which started around 9:30 p.m.(+ ).
We arrived earlier in the evening in MGM Studios and rode the Great Movie Ride.
Afterwards we sat so he could drink a Coke for sugar and rest his feet.
At almost 9:00 he went to the outside of the park where the race started. I killed time walking around MGM. (The park was officially closed. I paid $25 so I could be there for the ToT race "party".)
It was interesting to watch things get set up for the race. I also went into the ToT gift shop. They had not closed up.
Then I wandered back outside waiting for ToT to reopen at 9:30 p.m. I snapped a few photos.

This is the ToT sign to the right of the gate. During daylight/part of the time it reads The Hollywood Hotel, or something like that. And is made to look like weathered copper.

Then the fiber optics roll in (and out) and it looks like this:

Soon a CM came by as the gate was ready to be opened. A few more people arrived.
The first time I rode ToT that night it was just the three of us.
They lingered in the gift shop, and I headed for another round of drops, as I had already bought my items earlier. (As you can see my bag in the ToT photo. )
(I ToT. It's my FAVORITE.)
The second time I was the sole rider! Not by planning. Just pure chance.
There were at least three CMs to guide me into the library. And since I was it, they gave me the royal treatment. Of course they are always nice. But this time they showed me some extras. And since no guest was around to be blinded by my camera flash, I snapped some shots.
Although it was dark in there. And through my camera lens everything just looked pretty much dark. So these photos really were a Point N Shoot. I just aimed and snapped, and hoped for the best. (I think this first photo I may have taken when the other two were with me, on the first ride. But really don't recall for sure.)

This first one is a hidden Mickey. But it was too dark to see then and I cant make it out in the photo either. We will have to take the word of the experts. The small gong part has a hidden Mickey on it, so I am told.

One item in the library has long black gloves lying on a table. They are stiff as a board, and fastened securely down. But I was told they are the gloves one of the actresses wore in the ToT movie. (No photo. Sorry.)

That ride where I was alone gave me more creeps more than going through the HHN haunted houses. It was odd.
Glad I had that opportunity. And the CMs were GREAT!

I did end up riding ToT a few more times that night. But I was in the midst of the usual gathering. Still a great time. But not as memorable as my tour of one.

Got my 8 year old niece to ride last Jan with my son and myself. Well we got up to the top and the more we waited the more she was getting upset. She has been on this ride before with her dad and the rest of us the year before so I knew she could do it. Well, at this point she even had tears rolling down her face, I really didn't know what to do, except maybe leave the line and walk down without riding. I told her that this was the only way down, she got on, did the ride, and at the bottom, she commented to me, "Well that was so much fun". I just knew she could do it and she did it and really enjoyed it. I was so proud of her.

The problem with my sister is she won't ride anything scary or fast, so I know where she gets it from. But I just knew she could do it and she did. Can't wait to get her back on this year.
