We have ferrets too, but there is no way they compare. As long as the cage is kept clean, there isn't really any kind of smell at all (no more than a cat or dog... but NOT a wet dog). Now the ferrets on the other hand... LOL. Actually, if you clean their cage at least once if not twice a day, they smell like popcorn.
