Ot Need To Vent 1st Bump in the Road What Do I Do?

And I think the OP has said she reread her post and it was not a good reflection of how she really felt. She was upset and posted on her without realizing how it sounded. Have a great trip!

I have been many times but without kids and on top of it for some reason my girls are freaking out about the step mother "evil" so I am leary about the park fare even though we have ressies at the end of the trip. because everyone ahs mentioned her. my youngest will even press the skip button on the dvds for all the evil characters and say we don't like bad we only like the pricesses because they are good. Now do you all see why I am loosing my mind.

JFTR We LOVED the Stepmother & Stepsisters. They were probably the funniest characters ON PROPERTY!!! We saw them outside the castle, then at 1900.... Allie was a little shy and crawled under the table and the Stepmother told her how pretty she was and how she liked her not wearing blue

Oh I have to agree with this, the stepmother was soooooo funny, she was hysterical with my dh too.
she asked him if he knew of any princes for her dd and my dh said they were all in Massachusetts,so stepmother yells across the dining room to the stepsister......." there are Princes in Massachusetts"

then when the kids stood up for a pic with her, my 4 yo ds tried to sit back down and i have the funniest picture of her plucking him by his shirt back to take a pic, its funny!

I made Oct ressies about ten days before for three. Why not try a second reservation and when you get there be seated together?
When we were seated it was a table and slid in booth, huge area for us.

well good luck, I will have to put the giants clothes in the closet until next year, plus DH :sad2:  now i have three children. but we still have WDW :yay: :woohoo:

I didn't read all of the posts, so maybe this was said. But, maybe your DH would skip the CRT meal and have it be a girl thing. We have done CRT on almost every one of our trips, we love it. A couple times my DH has gone, but most of the time it is just me and my girls. For us it has been to save mney, but it is also fun to have girl time. I totally understand if he wants to be there or you want him there, we have also liked the times he is with us, but it might work to get your neice there.

No matter what...Have Fun!!!

I feel your pain, as we have had our vacation "crashed" twice. A couple of things for you to consider:

1) its not Disney's fault, so no sense in ranting at or about them. Granted its probably feels good to blast "someone" and its easier to take it out a an anonymous CM than to deal with your family.

2) a gift is not a "gift" if it involves work/strain/headache. Simply because the family has called their intrusion a "surprise/treat/gift" etc, doesn't make it so. Its rude to impose and expect you to rework your plans now that "TA-DA" they are joining you.

3) at the end of the day, you have a couple of options, you can decide their company is more important than the "things" of WDW, and adjust your plans to all be together, or you can tell your family that its very sweet of them to think of your DD and to want to join the celebration, but that the plans you've made [including a paid for meal] do not permit you to make changes and that you are sorry you will not be available to them the entire time they are at WDW. You might suggest that they make ADRs for the meals you have set plans for, suggest some nice options for them and be done with it.

Let me say, that it is not "fair" to expect you to work around them, but you will have to weigh being "right" with "peace" in the family, as I have found that people who are thoughtless in their demands tend to not take it well when they are denied what it is they are demanding. So, best of luck to you...let us know how it all worked out. :)

Thanks for the advice now I am just going with it the plans have been put into DH and DSIL hands if it works great and if not they will have to go their own way and wait for us. Still keeping my fingers crossed that something will work.

Well when we arrived we were upgraded to the concierge building at the poly very nice surprise, but that opened the door for us to get some help. They were able to get us all in for the chef mickey birthday party about a hour earlier then planned apparently they hold tables.:goodvibes . As far as the CRT went my girls were done in the morning at the castle and niece at Downtown Disney, We asked about the ADR for CRT and they were able to get my niece in with us, wich was a god send and the girls loved everyminute of it. :grouphug: My two DD's were so happy to spend their birhtdays with a cousin they don't get to see that often and after they left my girls kept lookingfor her. It turned out to be a great trip. I got very sick with a sinus infection of course first trip i have evertaken without emergency antibiotics, so I trucked through it fever and all, and a lot of motrin.:flower3: Thanks for the support.

I am happy you had a great time sorry you got sick. i have to ask how was your ressie at 1900 park fare? we went for the first time last year and we truely loved it we plan on going again this year when we are there. I know what you went through as we had to add my grandmother who is 83 and we had just brought her back from Calif to Connecticut to live as my grandfather passed and this trip was already planned and we had the same issues but like you it all worked out in the end and she had the best time my DD's ages 9 and 4 and my DS who is 20 all enjoyed spending this time with her we were able to get so many pictures with the 3 of them such a fun trip we are doing it again this year, she is starting to get dementia as she asked my mom who my son is (he lives with his gf) and she doesn't see him that much, but this year my son and his gf are staying at fort wilderness cabins with my mom and my grandmother so hopefully she will remember him :rotfl: My DH and I are considering a cruise next year but unsure right now and of course it will be a Disney one at that :lmao: Take care and I am glad you had a great time. you can say that you had a lot of Pixie dust come your way:cheer2:

The girls and my DH loved the 1900 park fare we went for dinner just the four of us after the rest of the family left, I was worried because the girls hate all evil. When we got there they placed happy birthday crowns on their head and informed them that Lady Trumain, the sisters, prince charming and of course cindy would be there and surprisinly they were excited. The food was good and the character interaction was great. Even my DH was up taking pics with the Stepmother, of course my girls were wearing princess shirts, so when the sisters came over they got into this whole laundry bit aout scrubbing off the mess on the shirts, and would the girls come live with them in cindarellas old room, :rotfl2: :lmao: It was so funny. Prince charming came and gave them both hugs and bowed they had my DH walking like a prince for days and bowing. Would definately do it again. AFter that they would curtsy everytime the walked down a flight of steps and anounce themselves into room.:lmao: They had people in tears.

I also want to do a dis cruise, would love to do the new years 10 day southern carribean next year. That would def be more relaxing, and next time i go i am definately wearing a podometer to track how far I walk everyday, just curious.:upsidedow
Thanks again to everyone.:flower3:

We had alot of great dinning, Loved ohanas, and playhouse disney, it was empty they sang danced loved everysecond of it, plus that is where they were surprised with the family that met us there. Crystal palace was very crazy busy, And WE HAD A TOUR GROUP THERE WHEN WE WERE THERE TAKING UP EVERY LAST SECOND OF CHARACTER TIME THEY WERE VERY RUDE THROUGHT THE WHOLE TRIP.:crazy2:

Glad it all worked out.

Sorry you got sick. I always travel with antibiotics/allergy medicine when going to WDW, because everytime I go there, I get the worst sinus infection. It is so weird. Hope you are feeling better soon.
