OT: need some pixie dust *UPDATES on page 3*

Went to the OBGYN today, Im due in like 5 days and we have been trying everything to get him to come. Nothing. We did a exam today and nothing is happening. Need some pixie dust to get this little guy out. Feeling like Im going to be pregnant forever...

Thanks everyone, yes this is baby #1. The Dr. said we would induce next week if he doesnt decide to show up by sunday which is his due date and my birthday as well. Just a bit let down that nothing had started beforehand. I thought I would be just a little bit started but nothing just makes me feel like Im going to be pregnant forever. At least the heat has stopped being nasty but I just want him here.

Mine (all five ) were all about 6 days late. That was the norm, I guess. No one ever tells you that pregnancy actually lasts TEN months, do they? Take time to just enjoy the silence....you won't have it again for a l-o-o-o-o-n-n-n-g time.

I was late with both of mine - oldest ds takes the record for me with 16 days late and the 6.5yo was due Dec 31/1999 and was born Jan 10 2000 - and no that date wasn't planned!!

Nope Im still pregnant.. nothing happening, going out for Mexican tonight walking to the resturant... lots of Brax and Hicks Hopefully soon.. if not they will induce next week.

I was 11 days late with my first!!! I think the word INDUCTION scared her out of me!!! It doesn't help you now (But it might later!), my second was 3 days early... I didn't even believe it when my water broke, my DH had to convince me that YES... my DS was going to be early.

Hang in there, I know it is hard to wait. Want some "remedies"? Try evening primrose oil, and....hmm how to say this delicately?
"Lots of 'special hugs' from DH".

The Braxton Hicks are a Good sign, I didn't have ANY with my DD (first), and had a REALLY long labour. LOTS of strong ones for months with DS and a quick labour.

I was nine days late with my first. She never did drop even ... figured out why after 16 hrs of labour ending in a c-section ... big girl (9lbs 12oz) and just wouldn't fit through my narrow hips At least I know they are narrow somewhere

Second was planned c-section ... one week before due date. She is my firecracker!!

Good luck ... I do hope you go soon. I know how you feel by this point ... you just want that baby OUT!!!

Don't give up hope just because there's no sign of dialation yet. On Jan 17 at 3pm, I was only slightly started. Dr said no time soon. I started feeling contrax at 3am but it hapened the three night before too so I fell back to sleep. Got up at 7am and it was stronger. By 10am we were at teh hospital and dd was born at 1pm. Less than 24hrs after dr said I was closed. Oh, and ds3 was born with vaccuum after 34hrs labour (when dr said a few days before that I was going to go late... and he came 2wks early!)

Thanks everyone, tried spicey food and a long walk last night plus many other things Still nothing.
I did learn that having a Blizzard at 9:00pm means that there was a party with the little guy for a while as he was kicking/ squirming up a storm. 3 more days till my Dr's apt. perhaps he will actually come on my due date.. Right now that would be the best birthday present..

Ds was two weeks late as well before they induced. (I didn't much care for the induction thing but to each their own).

The waiting is awful! Spicy food walking etc are all great ideas but the baby alway seems to come when they feel they should.

You will have the baby...they almost never stay in there it just feels that way.

Well its now the 13th and I am now older as its my birthday and 40 weeks pregnant. Had lots of Brax and Hicks but still nothing much. Here's to something happening while Im sleeping ...
