So after our trip dh and I decided the only thing that's missing is grown up time!

We dropped the kids at Simba's at AKL for a couple of hours and that was great. They had fun and we didn't feel guilty about enjoying our dinner without them. We're thinking next "big" trip will be to an all-inclusive somewhere warm with a real kids' club.

But that's a long way away, and we have our 20th wedding anniversary coming up in July. (Yes, I was a child bride :lmao: and we were married 13 years before we decided to reproduce.) Maybe some of my many fellow NS dissers know of a resort here in the east that might supply even a few "good" hours a day of kids' programs? We were also thinking we'd go to Quebec for a week this summer, so could do something there if there is such a thing. We could get a sitter through the hotel I guess, but that's more "placemarking" for the kids, not something that would be special and fun for them as well as us.

Unfortunately, we don't have family able to take the kids for a weekend or something like that. (My SIL was on my list for our anniversary but they are having a baby TODAY, and now that seems like a bit of a big favour!!)

White Point Beach Lodge..??

We have summer kids programs at Dundee..movies, hike, campfire evenings, games consoles, etc, etc:) But only in the summer (generally after July 1st - limited weekend programming prior)

Just double check on the age limits..

I just sent an email to White Point; never been there, but one can't help but notice their marketing stuff. CB is fine for us, and family activities would be fun, but I also want some time where someone else watches them while I...don't! ;)

Thanks for the ideas!

Last time we went to White Point, they had activities for kids but not a really supervised, sign-in-sign-out kids' program. More like everybody who shows up for the craft or the games in the lounge gets to participate... but the staff weren't really responsible for the kids, just for running the activity.

On the other hand, kids can have a great time just bopping around the place with other kids. I'm contemplating a little March Break break down there... just a few days to be stir-crazy somewhere else for a change, somewhere with a pool...

Well, that sounds like you need a Disney cruise:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Great kids clubs on board!!

:boat: :sail:

Uh, yeah! Not in the cards unfortunately. Maybe I'll go work on that tax return, see if the gov't is going to give us back some of OUR money!!

I got an email back from White point and the Cape Breton resorts. Neither will actually take responsibility for the kids! Dang. Just found out about a couple of science camps in Halifax and F'ton, but that won't do anything for the 4 yo...:confused3

Would you be comfortable taking a sitter with you?

(That's why we always drag my nephew along on our weekend trips:teeth: )

He enjoys the hotel pools, pizza and movies as much as our boys do...

...while we go out for supper:goodvibes

Although our kids are a little older than yours - makes it easier..

Let us know if you find anything:)
