After watching Playhouse Disney every morning, my son eagerly awaits the arrival of Bear. It is breaking my heart. My "baby" is almost 4 and is convinced if he eats breakfast, gets dressed and brushes his teeth, Bear is going to show up to play with him. On one hand, it is very sweet, but on the other I have to keep telling him that Bear isn't coming. I am running out of excuses!!! He says "Just call him, Mom". :teeth:

Anyone have any ideas as to a reason I can give my son that Bear isn't coming?

Oh how sweet! Here's a thought: My friend's granddaughter had a Bear birthday party and they rented a Bear costume somewhere...you could see if you could find one to rent near you and have a friend (a good friend who loves mornings ;)) dress as bear and show up...but then again, he wouldn't talk and I would think your DS expects him to talk and play...hmmm...

My almost 4 year old DD asked me this very question the other day! I told her I'm not sure how Bear knows which house to go to and maybe we can just see him at Disney. Hopefully he'll be there somewhere!

My dd4 does the same thing. She says that she wants Bear to come over for her baby sister who is 1 yo. She doesn't understand that Bear can't come to EVERY boy & girls house. I feel bad, but what can ya do???

:goodvibes

Awww...I wish I had good advice for you. DD (3.5) thinks that Bear is singing the "you did it song" to her each morning because she got dressed, brushed teeth, etc by herself. This morning she said that Bear didn't know her name. :confused3 I didn't ask her to elaborate because I'm afraid I'll be in your situation!

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes...
Disney has motivated young children in a way like no other but I find my DD waiting by the door a lot in the morning. She doen't have to say why, I know why.(She's waiting for Bear) Just like she thinks that she will ride Dumbo with Minnie Mouse when we go to the MK because she saw it in a very old planning video....
Oh, the magic of hope in the eyes of little ones!

:) my DS is 5 and he tells me weekly I have to email Bear again to find out when he is coming to our house. So I feel for you... To get him of my back I sent an email to a made up address and keep checking for a response and nothing has come yet.

Bear is very busy and has lots of kids to see.

I just want to know why Bear in the BBH is never on anymore? My kids really used enjoy that show and I think it used to be on once in the morning and once in the afternoon. :confused3
(By the way, that is very sweet ..... :goodvibes )

OMG!!! How very cute! I wish I knew what to tell you :confused3 - but all I can think is thank goodness this hasn't occurred to our DD!

I'd try for the not every kid thing, kind of like when we were at Turtle Talk with Crush and DD wasn't called on. She was devastated. But we gave her the big talk about how not everyone gets everything and we pointed out a bunch of things that she does have that maybe others don't.

Good luck with this one!

Bear in the Big Blue House is on weekends here at 6 AM. I thought that they stopped making new episodes because the actress who voiced the moon (I think Lynn Thigpen???) passed away. :confused3
