Hi All ~ I work in a school and the kids told me that there are these cards called TnT and R4 cards that I can buy for $20 and download games for my kids DS Lite's. Please explain? Thanks! Sandra

They are basically the same card that expands the memory of a cell phone. You have an adapter that plugs into your computer. This card then shows on your computer as another drive. You simply copy games over to this card. Please note: the games you copy are not usually a licensed copy.

You then place this card into the other adapter that fits your game.

Pros: Very simple to use, can store lots and lots of games, inexpensive.

Cons: Games may not be licensed ... i.e. you may be using an illegal copy. Some more modern games may not work (a very small number)

I overheard someone asking about these at EB Games a couple of weeks ago. The sales person said it is not something you would find in any "legal" business. They are not licensed or endorsed by Nintendo and you would be risking your DS by using this - basically if it breaks because of virus etc. you are out of luck. He told the parent to look into them more closely before deciding and if he really wanted one he would probably find it around downtown/Chinatown/fleamarkets etc.

It's a hack so you can play pirated games on your DS.
Much like modding an Xbox or PS2 so you can play copied games.

We have 4 ds and we have 4 mods for each of them. I also just had the Wii moded.

Pm me if you want more info.

Do you use the Wii homebrew channel?

The R4 is a great little device. It will in no way harm your ds.

There is also nothing at all illegal with the device, its what people do with it that could get you in a little hot water, along the same lines as downloading music or movies you do not own.
