Most tags I have seen come from a comment a person makes on the board. If the tag fairy sees it they might make it under their name.

Not Moderators! We've got power, just not that much power! When I grow up I want to be a tag fairy one day!

The phrases are quotes of things you have said in previous posts. They usually catch you when you say something silly and out of context, it just doesn't make sense. I like mine because it reminds me of a fun time we had when these boards had just been changed and a lot of fun posting was happening!
