OT- how long did it take you to get your Canadian Citizenship?

I would say it was about 1month between the time I did my test and went for my oath... I think I recieved my letter 2 wks after I did my test.
Have you check your status online? I would give them a Call just to check things out.

Born in Montreal, lived there for 23 + years, beenin Toronto area 21+ years.

So if Quebec ever separates I hope to have dual citizenship.

For those of you chose Canada, what are your reasons for selecting our part of the world?:thumbsup2

I hope it isn't the weather in January

How hard is the test? I am eligible to test this fall. I am considering it. The cost to renew my PR card and the cost to naturalize are comparble and it's worth the test, I think.

OATH OF CITIZENSHIP

I swear (or affirm) that I will be faithful
and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty
Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of Canada,
Her Heirs and Successors, and that I will faithfully
observe the laws of Canada
and fulfil my duties as a Canadian citizen.

Here's the link.

You've always gotta pledge allegiance to something - would you rather it be to the Queen, or the flag?

ie.

I pledge allegiance to the Flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands:
one Nation under God, indivisible,
With Liberty and Justice for all.

 Both, I love both, pledge to both and love being a dual citizen of two of the greatest countries in the world. :thumbsup2 BTW, it took me two years for residency and four for my Canadian citizenship.:cloud9:

Hey Ham Ham ... I was thinking the same thing. I was born in Montreal as well, spent 8 years there and then 40 years in Ontario ... Ooops ... just gave away my age :scared1:
