We live in a small town. There are 3 daycare homes on my short block with 6 houses on each side. We have no sidewalks. My neighbor called Social Services on us, because the bigger kids rode their bikes in the road. Where are they suppose to ride them. They are only allowed in the street when we are sitting out watching them. Two of these daycares have been on this street for over 20 years. This guy knew this when he moved in. Most people avoid our street like the plague! We have Children Playing signs at each end. I have know Idea what we are going to do this summer. You can not ride a bike in a driveway full of little ones. Kids need to be kids.

That is so sad....sounds to me like that HOA wants to turn that place into Adults only...kids need fresh air

I agree that kids need a place to be kids and play outside. On the other hand, kids need to be kept safe. Sounds like the neighborhood in that article needs to use some of that parking lot and turn it into a playground. I actually had a bad experience in my townhome where a child was riding her bike in the alley behind the houses and ran into the side of my car. Luckily I was at a complete stop getting ready to turn and she ran into the side of my car, so there was no way I could have been blamed. But her parents were letting her play in the alley instead of on the sidewalks out front. The neighborhood also had 4 parks, so there was no reason for her to be out there.
