OT- HELP need birthday gift for 14 yr old girl!

I am the mother of 2 boys and am clueless here. DS13 was invited to a birthday party for a 14 yr old girl. He can't go to the party as he is going away for the weekend, but this girl has had a crush on him for 2 yrs and we are friends of the family and feel we should send something. Don't want to send the wrong message, as he apparently doesn't reciprocate the crush, but they are friends. Don't want to do a gift card either.

What are 14 yr old girls into, that doesn't cost a fortune?

Klutz makes some cute craft-type books for that age. The Friendship Bracelet one is cute. My Micheals store usually has a decent selection of the Klutz books and you can use the Micheals coupon, if there's one out.

I would think the klutz books might be a bit young.

I have a 14 year old son- His girlfriend got a neckace- His "girl- friends" always get a gift card. Non-commital and useful.

You could get a bunch of stuff from Bath and Bodyworks to put in a little gift bag, or maybe a small (ON SALE) Vera Bradley thing like a cell phone holder or an accessories bag. I think that jewelry is out b/c it might seem like he "likes" her more than he does. I know you don't want to do gift cards, but one for itunes is non-committal and everyone seems to like them.

I was thinking itunes also...but if you have an Aeropostale nearby, that seems to be a hit. Hoodies are always nice, and they've had some good sales recently. I have twin nieces that just turned 15 - itunes and Aeropostale are always a hit.
One of them also likes scrapbooking, so I might throw together a little scrapbooking bag for her - Michael's has a bunch of stuff on sale right now. That might now seems like a gift from your son, though.

ooohhhh, I like the bath and body works idea. I was also thinking some fuzzy socks as she makes fun of him when he wears my cozy purple socks.

They have fuzzy/soft socks at B&BW, too, so you could make that part of the gift bag!

My DD is 13. I second the Bath and Body Works stuff. There are good coupons out now too. The fuzzy socks are on sale for $5.00 and there is a coupon for a free item up to $13 with any $10 purchase.
