well, i've been reading all these great threads, and trying to decide....to camp or not to camp?
we plan on driving from Ct-georgia in the spring, and trying to decide, would we be ok in a tent in GA in Late march? Like savannah area? any suggestions as to good places?
also considering camping the washington dc area on that trip, are we biting off too much for a driving trip with 3 women and 2 kids? should we just stay at a hotel, which doesn't cost much more, but the tradeoff would be(I think) hotel just bare bones/cheap,campsite likely very pretty..... help!:confused3
I am so confused, what would you do?

I think it's all in the "experience" you're looking to have. I love camping and I also love staying in nice hotels. Which is better?? Hard to say for me since my family and I enjoy both. ;)

If the other ladies enjoy camping too, then go for it. I'm guessing the kids would probably enjoy camping more?? I'd say talk to the other ladies and decide what is best for the group. I think camping near the beach would be fun...not so sure about Washington though??

Good luck with your planning! :thumbsup2

One thing me and my son did when going to Washington was stayed at KOA Kamping Kabins. Waaaay less expensive than hotels in the Washington area, but without the extra work of tent camping. Most of the Kabins have a double bed and a set of bunk beds. Some of them have 2 room Kabins which may sleep more. This KOA has one room and two room Kabins and is really close to the DC area. http://www.koa.com/where/md/20139/facilities/

oooh, thankyou for the replies- we all love both types of trips, I guess I worry that the only camping I usually do doesn't require other things, like being presentable in public...:rotfl2:
usually it's braids and sweatpants for the entire time, and I'm worried I'll be hard pressed to look decent, tour, and camp all at once- this is kind of why I posted here,as any veteran who's camped at Disney has to do it all!:thumbsup2
I'll look at the cabins,at least then we wouldn't worry about rain.....
