OT - GTA Mortgage Brokers and Lawyers

Just wondering if anyone has a good lawyer/mortgage broker in the GTA that they could recommend. Please don't recommend if you haven't used them. Thanks.

I used a great real estate lawyer on Bay Street in Toronto when I bought my condo. I was a first time buyer and he explained everything to me in simple language. PM me if you would like his details.

Well, I recommend ME! I am a broker with The Mortgage Centre, and I routinely do mortgages all across the country. A lot of my clients are government relocations (military, rcmp) and many of them don't come anywhere near Ottawa. I have literally done mortgages for people going from one coast to the other. Most of my work is done through phone/fax/email and I probably only actually sit down with about 5% of my clients. I also do First Time Home Buyer seminars on a regular basis.

(PS: I have really great rates if anybody else needs a mortgage, refinance or renewal!)

We have used FayeW (mortgagecentre) (see above post) when we moved from Halifax to Ottawa . There was no need to be in the same city/province as we did everything over fax and email. She knows her stuff. She was excellent. I would highly recommend her.

I would highly recommend Keith Leighton at Ideal Mortgage. His company is based out of Halifax but he can do mortgages for all across Canada. Anyone interested can give him a call at 902-453-2307.

Has anyone ever gone through First National Financial in Canada??? Or, have any information about them if you are a mortgage broker...

First National is fine. They are a good, reputable lender. I've done a few deals with them and they are good to deal with. Our area rep is awesome and helped me out of a sticky situation when ING was being ridiculous on one of my files last year.

We all have our favourites...First National isn't the first lender I go to, but depending on the product I was looking for, they might be the second.
