Has anyone been to this waterpark in Columbus Ohio? Does it compare to Great Wolf Lodge? Is it better, worse?? Any opinions would be apreciated. This is what we might do while we wait till our next trip to Disney in May 2011!! :goodvibes

I haven't been to that one but just returned from Kalahari Resort and Waterpark in Sandusky Ohio. It was about a quarter the price of GWL and the waterpark was probably twice the size with many more slides. Because it was so big it didn't feel crowded at all and there were always chairs and tables to be found and we went during the Christmas holidays! We got a one bedroom condo which had a fully equipped kitchen (which we didn't need because of our package), buffet breakfast each morning (2 mornings), pizza and pop, and a $40 gift certificate for the dining room, indoor mini golf, zoo passes and $20 spa certificate for less than $500 for 2 nights for 4 people. It worked out that basically all of our meals were covered. The buffet breakfast held us over until dinnertime both days so we didn't buy lunch. But there are a couple of fast food restaurants there with very reasonable prices. We enjoyed it so much more than GWL. The change/shower rooms at GWL were my biggest complaint, after the price, as when we went there was absolutely no room to change at all - people were standing scrunched together trying to change/get dressed, if you wanted to shower you were gonna wait in line 15 minutes, etc and this was during the week. Kahalari's change room is huge and there must be at least 20curtained off individual change rooms (I think there were 3 or 4 at GWL) and as many showers and toilet stalls.

Thanks, I've heard there was an indoor waterpark bigger and better that GWL, but less expensive, we will have to check this one out!

We just booked Kalahari for two nights during March break for $129/night.
This is just the basic room with waterpark passes for all, but there's a small fridge and microwave, and we will probably eat dinners off site both nights.
Can't touch that price over March break at GWL:banana:

The food prices are actually quite reasonable at Kalahari and they have awesome pizza. There are at least 5 restaurants that I can think of. Two sit down and 3 or 4 counter service. There is a story on the information/menu thing in the rooms about the pizza and that it was what started Kalahari - a pizza place grew into three mega waterpark resorts.

I'd also have a look on the website as my friend got a deal of $99 per night during the March break. They stick limited time specials on there. Or if you have a facebook account, join their page and you will be notified of facebook specials which are also usually $99/night.

Have fun!

I booked for the $99 a night....it is a facebook promo to raise money for Haiti and the code is RELIEFRATE.
