I know it's not WDW but we're still excited anyway!:goodvibes DH myself DS and his DGF are planning a trip to Garden City Beach South Carolina and was wondering where everyone stops for the night say after about 11 or 12 hours of driving? We're from Simcoe and will be heading across the Peace Bridge. Also any decent (cheaper type;) ) hotels for the one night.....and also where do you stop on the way back?:) We'd like to book a hotel in advance.:)

Thanks so much for any help and ideas?

Beckley WV both ways. All the hotel chains are there but I don't know how inexpensive they are. There are good restaurants too. You might want to check online because most offer internet booking rates. If you have a CAA membership, check that as well.

We're in Burlington and Beckley, WV is about a 9 hour drive (incl 1/2 hour at the border) which should be roughly your half-way point. As the previous poster stated, there are many hotel chains and restaurants on this stop. You are in the mountains at this point. You may experience some dense fog when departing from Beckley the next morning. My parents will often drive 11 hours to Mt. Airy (just north of Greensboro) when heading to Myrtle Beach.

We kind of want to try and get about 11 or 12 hours into the trip before we stop for the night so as not to have a long drive the next morning. A friend of DH's mentioned Summersville? Anyone ever stayed there?:)

Thanks again for your suggestions.:thumbsup2
