Hey from a fellow New Brunswicker.

I thought about doing the exact same thing.. It just seemed so complicated to find a train station in CT that would allow the parking etc. Till I saw the Jet Blue fares from Portland Maine.

Park the car at the airport.. and fly to NYC on JetBlue for 39$ one way. (This is a special) I saw that when I was booking my 99$ each way fare to Orlando!

I figured for my NYC trip this summer.. that's what I'll do. (less driving too)

Hey are you from CT? If so where abouts?? My husband is from Hartford and now lives also in Toronto with us LoL

No, sorry I do not... my brother and his family live in Danbury thou and I've been to visit them a couple times.

The first time we drove to NYC our intention was to park at Journal Square Transportation Center and take a PATH train into Manhattan. Journal Square was close to our hotel so we chose that station. Anyway, we missed a crucial step in our directions and the next thing we knew we were entering the Holland Tunnel! I wasn't prepared (no directions or anything) and had to navigate Manhattan. To be honest, it wasn't that bad.

Here is info on NJ PATH:

If you are still looking for a hotel, my friend recently suggested the Holland Motor Lodge - it's about $70/night and includes free parking. It's on the Jersey side beside the Holland Tunnel with a train station steps away. It looks ghetto but the Trip Advisor reports are pretty good and my friend swears by it. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...lland_Motor_Lodge-Jersey_City_New_Jersey.html
