OT - Do you like leather seats?

Leather seats are a necessity :goodvibes

I have black leather (heated) seats and they don't get warm enough in the summer that they burn me or that I stick to them and I rarely ever use the A/C. I do use the heated seats all winter long :thumbsup2

DH's truck has lighter gray leather but the seats aren't heated. They are a little cold in the winter but I am also very spoiled with my heated seats.

Leather is a lot easier to clean and maintain plus it holds up better over time.

I will never buy another vehicle that does not have heated leather seats

I have cream colored leather seats in my car and I HATE them. They are cold in the winter. In the summer, if you have on shorts, your legs stick to them unless you run the a/c at full blast and cool the car down before you get in.

We will never again get leather seats, and also never a light color interior. In spite of hearing how 'easy to clean' the leather seats are, they still show dirt (and my darn kids wrote on one of the seats with a pen, it's impossible to get it off) and I hate having to buy special stuff to wipe them with. It's a pain in the butt.

I agree. We have cars with both leather and cloth, and I prefer cloth. Leather is cold in the winter and super hot in the summer. I won't buy another car with leather seats. They look nice but not very practical.

I didn't want leather...until we had a car with leather seats. They are great! I had a Honda for 17 years and the leather seats were still in wonderful shape.

Cloth seats just get too dirty.

I have a Traverse with leather seats and since I bought in FL, they are both heated and cooled. I never would have picked it but I do love it. They seem to stay cleaner than my cloth did. I haven't had the dogs in the car yet but they are comfortable. I have used the cooling feature and heated feature many time over. The leather really is comfortable but I honestly don't feel the difference between them and cloth. If you like the car and it has leather then get it. Once it's home, you won't even realize.

I soooo agree with the bolded part. We had them in our last Suburban and had to get them again since they don't do leather in the upgraded packages. We bought cloth in our other 2 cars and I really like it better! The new car has tan leather and its already got spots on it. My old Suburban's driver's seat was cracked after about 5/6 years. We kept it 9 and I hated the way it looked!

Off white leather & they get HOT in the summer but I love leather & wouldn't go back to cloth.

I was against leather until it my current vehicle came with the heated leather seats and now I wouldn't want any other kind! LOVE love love them!! :thumbsup2 Easy to clean and no problem with them being too hot during the summer months and we get some pretty hot and humid weather here during our summers. The cloth seats in our van that was totalled were actually in pretty good shape for the age of the vehicle. The adjuster commented how nice they looked as there were no rips/holes/tears/stains or wear spots. She figured whichever junkyard bought the vehicle was going to make their money off of the seats easily because all 7 of them were in very good to excellent condition. But I personally would not want to go back to cloth. I am spoiled now by the leather and my seat heaters! :cool2:

We have leather in all our vehicles. Most are light colors and one car has black. I would never have anything else but the black interior gets a little hot. The new Lexus SUV has heated and cooled seats. I'll se how this works. All the other cars just have heated seats.

My first car had a black interior, never again! Both mine and my DH's vehicles have tan interiors and we love them. We don't find them hot in summer like some PP have said. I do take care of the interior and do not allow kids to eat ice cream or sticky foods in them. We always stop to eat, and snacks are things that will only make crumbs, etc. We would never have any other interior color, because the darker interior will naturally draw more heat. We live mid south and it does get hot but we don't stick to the seats. All the ones that I know that have cloth all begin to smell after a few years, because they are almost impossible to clean if you let your kids be messy in them or have pets. And mistysue, to solve the problem of car seats wanting to slide, you can get car seat mats for cars which also protect your seats.

My car has black leather seats and has driver and front passenger seats which can be heated in winter and cooled in the summer:love::love::love:

Love my car!!!

HATE the leather. Before we sold my Trailblazer, we had charcoal gray leather, and it would just about bring a blister up on a bare leg getting into my car after work. I have scotchguarded cloth in my Camry right now, and I'm a heck of a lot happier with it. :)

I don't mind either, but absolutely LOVE the leatherette (fancy way of saying vinyl) in my 2010 VW Jetta! It doesn't get as hot in the summer, as cold in the winter, and is so easy to clean. I've had this car for almost two years and there are no creases or crows' feet on the seats. They look brand new!

If I had to choose, I'd get black leather as I am prone to spilling coffee, soda, water, etc., on my seats. I also like the way black looks as opposed to beige or grey, but it gets super hot in the summer. I guess now they have cooled seats as an option in many cars, so that may alleviate some of that concern, but still.

I have leather seats because they came with the car that we bought off the lot, as is. It's not an option I would typically purchase, but they're typically included with heated seats as an option group. The heated seats, I would definitely pay extra to buy. (Love them in the winter; I turn them off once I've warmed up. If you have a backache on a long drive, the heat is great.)

In the summer, they're not hot IMO (mine are light tan) but if you're wearing shorts, leather is less comfortable than cloth seats. (Think sticky, sweaty)

I just put a towel on the seat if I'm wearing shorts in the summer and it keeps the seats cleaner, too, so they don't get sunblock on them.
