OT: Cuddle Chimp

I have seen the Cuddle Chimp a few times in the store and I think it is cute. Does anyone have a child who has one? Is it worth it or is it a novelty that will wear off (ie. Pound Puppy did last year ). I was just curious as they are on sale at our local Toys R Us and thought maybe oldest dd5, would prefer this rather than a doll like I got her sister.

We have one and it is so cute! DD got it last year and was terrified of it! I know that is mean to laugh but she used to go crazy everytime the commercial was on and Santa had a very hard time getting one. She wouldn't even sit in the same room as the thing!!! Of course she was almost 2 at the time. She has only just started to play with it. It is really cute and very lifelike. My ds(1) loves it! My other son (4) also likes to play with it. I think it's worth the money. I hope this helps!

My DD3 got one for her birthday and she was also terrified of it. She would not even let it stay in her bedroom. It's now 8 months later and she is starting to play with it, but it still can't stay in her room at night. Also, my DS who is 15 months is also not too thrilled with it. If he sees the girls have it out, he won't go anywhere near them. If the oldest girl brings the chimp near him, he covers his face. My oldest just turned 6 and has never been afraid of it, so maybe your daughter won't be either??
