OT CREDIT CArd number stolen

My CC co just called to to ask me if I had made 2 purchases on OCT 31 one in France and once in Italy via the internet...NO

I did however make a cc purchase via the internet that day at the EA store with my rewards # and that credit card....


SO if you have purchased anything at EA in the last week better check your cc purchase records.

That happened to me last month, but the attempted purchases were in California...$1400 at Best Buy and a smaller amount at another electronics store!!! The only place I had used the card in months was PayPal.

I purchase video games through them for DS and have also posted their discount numbers or RAOK for $ off $ codes from time to time.


Yes Beanie it does but I am glad they caught it as quick as they did!!!!

they did not hit mine for as much probably just testing the water since they could have hit it for $1000's this card has a really high limit. They hit me for $150 and $50 one at some spa and one at a bookstore.

So sorry to hear aboaut that. It feels so invasive when that happens. We had charges in NYC while we were at WDW in July. I was lucky that was all on that card because it does have a really high limit as well. Nothing worse than the paper work involved as well as that uneasy feeling that comes with it.

what paper work? and do they let you know any idea about how your card was compromised?

I didn't have any paperwork. They closed my account and asked me to cut up the card. I got a new card with a new account number in the mail a few days later. They transferred the balance from my "old" account, minus the charges I didn't make, to my "new" account.

As far as information, they told me the amount of the charges, where they were made and when. They said they will continue to investigate and search for the person(s) responsible, but that I wouldn't need to worry about that. The representative I spoke with also said that they suspected my information was "taken" from my PayPal transactions. She didn't say exactly how though, and I was in a bit of shock and didn't think to ask. I've been wondering about it ever since.

I wish I had thought to ask but when they called I was shocked also.....you just are not thinking clearly.
