OT - Computer Tech help

I'm having a problem with my computer and can't figure it out. If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

Seems when I type a url into the address block, I get no action. It won't go to that website. But if I have the site in my fave places and click on it there, I have no problem getting to the site. Even here at the Dis, if I click on it in my faves, it comes right up. If I type in the address - nothing.

Any suggestions. I use IE and have my internet access through my cable company.

Try some of these.

1) After typing in the addy, did you hit the 'ENTER' key.
2) After typing the addy, did you click on the 'GO' button to the right of the addy?
3) Have you closed IE and started up again
4) On the toolbar click on "Tools"; then on the dropdown menus click on "INTERNET OPTIONS'; then under TEMPORARY INTERNET files click on SETTINGS, then click on "AUTOMATICALLY"...then OK to you are back out.

Try these, Hope they help. Its not you Internet provider, its something to do with your browser.

This just happened to my wifes computer. Go to windows and update. I restarted and it worked perfectly.

Yes try that also sometimes clearing out the history and temporay internet files under tools-internet options, helps.
