OT - celebrating our student WDW trip final payment!!

Our student trip for mid April has now been paid in full!!!! With a total of 32 going, this has taken so much of my time,and I have put aside so much else; but now the final payment has been made and we are just waiting for the big day to get here!!

Thanks to those of you who have given raffle items, and been patient when I seemed to have less of it. Now I think my scrapping days are back for a while! Bought a big Disney picfolio for all the pix, and hope to interest parents in buying a digital book once I complete one, post trip. My CM business has been put aside for a number of months too, and I am ready to move ahead now.

Just a happy day and I felt like sharing it with you. Caroline

Yes, i can take a break, for a short while anyway. As my daughter reminds me, i am not in my 40's anymore but have not slowed down! Come to think of it, i am not in my 50's anymore either !!!
Jen, i'll bet i have a few kids who might have room - many have never been on a plane, never mind to WDW; and some of the adults have not been either. They don't know it yet, but each of them will have lanyards and i have donated my own pins so that each of them have 5 to trade. Can't wait to see their faces when they round the corner by the Emporium and see the castle - it is always a priceless moment!!! I am truly a lucky woman.

are they getting autograph books? or are they too old for that --- I would be willing to make them for the gang if you would like me to. I dont think we are going this year --- not with the economy the way it is --- but planning for a work trip next year

Being a MA resident Pam, you know how most schools work around the MCAS. Didn't want to take off time during school this yr, so with the MCAS in ELA next week, and the Math MCAS in May, it was safer to go during April vacation.
We only have a few parents going and they are not serving as chaperones - would not feel right having them watch other people's children. We teachers serve in that capacity. WE have a wonderful grp of 6th and 7th graders , most of whom have never been. We have watched truly great sacrifices parents have made and fundraising by the kids, one of whom earned nearly half the cost through fundraising. Since I teach in an urban middle school, even fundraising is a challenge.
Thank you for your offers and if I think of anything small, I will let you know for sure. Jen, they are 11- 13 yrs young, so I am not sure about autograph books. Five weeks from today!!!

I wonder if you get one autograph book, have any characters you see sign it, and then upload and include those in the digital book? Sort of like a cheaper version of Photopass borders?
