OT - Cars Wii Game

I would like to get the Cars game for the Wii (the one with just McQueen on it and the front looks like the movie) but I cannot figure out if you can use the steering wheel controllers. I bought the steering wheels and am waiting for a better deal on the game, but now I don't even know if I need them.

You don't need the steering wheel things to play the game, none of those "extras" are needed, just make it more "fun" I guess... I don't find spending more $$ fun, but that's me You CAN use them, but don't have to. The steering wheel, tennis racket, light sabers, etc, all just clip onto the wii remote.

I think with this game the steering wheel would not be practical. With the steering wheel the buttons are facing out toward you, and I believe for this game you hold the remote flat with the buttons facing up. So you could have the steering wheel but it's have to be flat and twisting it side to side instead of up in front of you the way a steering wheel is in a car. Does that make sense?

Hmm...it does. Maybe I will get a different racing one then. I know they will want to use the steering wheels. My neighbor just told me she bought this for son too, so maybe we could borrow it if need be. Off to go find a different racing game.

That game does not work like Mario Kart where you steer with the controller. We rented this for DS3 and he had a hard time with it. He is a pro at Mario Kart. Glad we rented and did not buy!!!!

FYI, the Mater racing game CAN be played with the steering wheel, in the same way as Mario Kart. We find that game MUCH more enjoyable in general than the original Cars game. We got the Mater-National game at TRU for $9.99!!! Excellent deal, IMO.

And, it has all the original CARS movie characters that you can play as, including McQueen.
