OT: I have two cans of gatorade - the kind that cost about $7 and you mix it with cold water to make pitchers of gatorade. I use it for the kids to take to summer camp and baseball games - great for my budget! (the ball park charges $1.50 for a small bottle!)

I bought these late last summer and one of them is kind of dried up. I can't easily scoop up the mixture to make a pitcher of gatorade.

Since the inside of the gatorade can is lined in "silver" and the rim of the can is "silver", I know I can't put it in the microwave for a few seconds to loosen the mixture. :confused3

What can I do to loosen the drink mixture? It's more than 1/2 can so I don't want to just throw it away....

Thanks for any advice!

try banging the jar on the side of your counter or taking the end of a large spoon and just smash it up.

I have had this same thing happen to me with the Garorade powder. I have found removing it from the container and forcing it thru a wire screen strainer or "crisping rack" with the back side of a spoon or rubber spatula is effective. Usually if there is only a little bit in the can I will just throw it out, but for half a can it may be worth the effort.:thumbsup2

DS banged the container on the side of the cabinet and then I "stabbed" it with a knife until it was loose. The expiration date is in 2008 and it was 1/2 container full, so it was worth it to make this work!
