OT: Can you use discount codes when renting a car in the Grand Caymans?

Hi:
Thanks to this board, I am an expert at getting a great deal on a rental car in Florida. Now, we are heading out of the country for the 1st time ever. Can you do the same thing with rental codes if it's international?

I don't see why you couldn't unless it tells you it's for domestic travel only. I would definitely be trying!

Usually not, most of the codes we see are for US/Canada rentals. Try applying the code when you make a res and see if it takes, because some codes are valid for a wider area.

I do see codes published in the US for use in Europe, Caribbean, Mexico periodically. Used one last month for Latin America/Mexico/Caribbean for 20% off National in Aruba, and Alamo had a similar 20% code. Those codes were not valid for US/Canada rentals, just in those specific locations. I've used AARP codes sometimes in the islands too, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, depends on the marketing area for the offer.
