I live in a pretty small town, so I never really figured that there would be any DISer's nearby....HOWEVER.....

I went to our shiny new Home Depot today - only open a week, and almost all of the Lime Green Mickey Head paint samples are gone!! There have got to be fellow DISer's here in Happy Valley?? (either that or a lot of college students are thinking of painting their rooms alien green)

We're right near Penn State. Say hello if you're out there!:wave2:

I don't live near you, but I have noticed that often the lime green Mickey head paint samples are low in my Home Depot too, so I suspect there must be some DIS people in the Utica, NY area as well.

I don't live in Happy Valley but I am a PSU Alum!

Residing happily in South central PA . . . lots of LGMH here at our local Home Depot. Picked some up last week!

Just wanted to say HI! I see you are from upstate NY -we are from Herkimer!
I have always thought of upstate NY as our area, but alot of people just consider it anything north of NYC. :confused3 Anyway just wanted to say Hi!

Hi Herkimer! You are certainly correct. Friends from college divided the state up into 3 parts- "The Island", "The City" and "Upstate". :rotfl: I recently talked with someone on the board from Illion, so I guess there are a few of us around. I'm actually from Oriskany.

I dunno, does Wilkes-Barre qualify as 'near'? I have to hit Home Depot this week, I'll check out the Mickeys.

Sure-why not?
We are so far from Disney we might as well be in our world:lmao: :goodvibes

Well, you're closer, but I don't think you were the Alien Green Mickey Head snatcher!
Love your tag about the moron, BTW...

We are in Williamsport about an hour east of you. My Dsis just graduated from PSU in May, and my DS (4) did the lion roar before he could talk! Nice to see fellow PSU fans here! Check out my DH shirt, my Ddad jacket and my Dsis sweatshirt all PSU!

Hi! :wave2:
I am a neighbor and a PSU alum -- I live just down Route 45 (little, itty bitty borough named Mifflinburg)
Amazing how quickly those lime green mickey heads go, huh? Do you think Home Depot knows the score? :confused3

Hi! I'm a PSU alum too, not raised around here, but moved back a few years after graduation to raise our family here. I know where Mifflinburg is!

I would love to ask someone at Home Depot if they know why the Alien Green is so popular! I'm sure there are many people who are very very confused! I never even thought that there would be other DISer's near me - guess that was probably a little short-sighted of me!

Ohhh, you just gave me great idea! I've been planning what to wear for our trip and I never even thought of a PSU day! :thumbsup2

You're not too far away! Thanks for saying hi! :goodvibes

I don't live near you - I'm in Maryland & am a big PSU football fan. I used to travel to State College a few times each year to watch the games - haven't been in the past 3 years or so - can't wait to get back to Beaver Stadium - what an amazing experience. Just wanted to chime in & say hi...

On last year's trip, every day was PSU day for me, as I wore a different PSU shirt each day!

Love your username - you must be a big fan!

Our local news just said today that three of the games for the season are already sold out, so if you're coming this year, you better act fast!! :hourglass

Thanks for saying hi!

Neesy 228 -- You know where Mifflinburg is??? It really is a small world, isn't it? Nice to meet you, neighbor! Gotta love those PA DISers!

JoePa4Ever -- I love your user name too! Isn't watching a game in Beaver Stadium almost an "out-of-body" experience? Where in MD are you from? I grew up in Bowie, before going to PSU.

I grew up there - is that close enough? :) I was never a Nittany Lion (my brother was) though I was a very proud Little Lion!

I've moved a lot since then, but my family is still there. My next trip back is planned for the last weekend in August. If you're local, I bet you can guess what the occasion is (hint - it's NOT for a football game, but it is definately unique to Happy Valley!)

PS - I, too, know where Mifflinburg is. I just moved back to Tennessee from Hanover where I spent three years. I love Tennessee - but PA does have a special way with teeny tiny towns!

TWO DIS'ers know where Mifflinburg is? WOW -- I'm honestly surprised. But, what is the Happy Valley event the end of August? Not the Grange Fair, not the Arts Festival, not opening home game, you need to tell me!
:confused3

Thanks Neesy - I do consider myself a pretty big PSU fan. In fact, I was in WDW last Sept for the Notre Dame game. I had planned on leaving Garden Grill in Epcot an hour before kickoff to get to our room & watch the game. Initially I was going alone but my 2 yr old refused to let me leave without him, which put me about a 1/2 hour behind schedule. So I put him in the stroller & jogged to the bus area. There were two buses for my resort - All Star Sports - both were busy putting disabled persons in wheelchairs on the buses & there was a monster line of people waiting to board. I anxiously waited for 10 minutes & no progress was made. So I got on a bus to All Star Music, which was near my resort. When I got off I sprinted to All Star Sports with my son in the stroller. I was drenched & out of breath, but I made it back at exactly 6:00 - just in time for kick off.
