OT-Budget RV rental?

OT, this is technically not even for a Disney trip (although it could be in the future) but the Dis is where to go for pretty much any and all answers

We are planning a trip from Massachusetts to Maine for a long weekend in early May for a wedding. There is nowhere to stay up there really, so we toyed with renting an RV and camping. But when we checked CruiseAmerica I almost fell over with sticker shock. Does anyone know of a reputable RV rental place that will not break the bank? Anyone have experience in renting an RV? Thanks for any and all info!
