I'm very interested to know what the employees of either of these hospitals pay for parking in the hospital lots or any hospital that has ParkLink maintaining their lots. This company is now implementing paid parking at our hospital and it really seems a very unfair way of determining what we pay as compared to the way any other hospital in and around our community determines the amount. When the representative was asked about it she said all of the hospitals they have base it the same way, which is part-time employees, regardless of how many days per month they work, pay the same amount as full-time employees and if you are on vacation for 3 weeks you still pay the full amount. Most other institutions around here base it on the hours worked (at a very reasonable rate of 17 cents per hour).

I don't know if our hospital uses Park Link (I am not in the GTA) but unfortunately part-timers pay the same amount as fulltimers...we used to have a system as you described (a per hour charge based on the # of hours you worked) which was wonderful for me who works casual. I gave up my parking pass when they implemented the change as it was not worth it for me. Now when I work I take the bus or pay the daily charge. They changed to a new system a couple of years back as part of a corporate structuring of the parking system.
