OT....Anyone travel to Myrtle beach at new years?

We've been to Myrtle Beach in the summer ( gorgeous) and March break ( great as well, just a bit cooler).

We recieved an email for an amazing rate over New Years and thought we might book it, for something different.

But I am worried there might not be too many restaurants/ shops /actives actively open.
I anticipate the weather being cooler, and not swimming in the ocean, but the resort has a great pool and we will still take walks along the beach.

Has anyone travelled at this time that cares to share their experience, and what was open?

It will be very cool, not Canada cold, but very very cool. The only way the pool will be open is if it is indoors and you will likely need a winter coat to be outside.

Paces at broadway on the beach should be open as well as major chains, but most of the single owned restaurants will not be open. And you might have to drive more into "town" for some things.

We did new year's a few years ago in ocean city, md and loved it,but it was cold, it is also north of Myrtle.
