We might be interested in taking the 5th wheel for a weekend (relative's wedding). Anyone been there who could comment on what it's like? Is there anything to do (i.e. trails, etc.)? Nice campsites?

We have stayed in turkey point many times. It is a very nice provincial park, very clean. There is a trail to hike on. There is usually lots of kids programs. The beach you have to drive too, but you can park for free if you stya in the provincial park. The only complaint I have is that it is very wooded which normally I like, but we have found it very difficult to get our trailer in and out of some of the sites. In fact he last time we were there, my husband scraped a tree and did 1200 in body damage to the rear corner of our trailer. There is some nice large pull through sites down one road. In the walking Sticks portion of the campground, sites 1-10, it's the loop on the outside. The sites are quite large. Try to avoid the inner loop with a 5th wheel, that is where we hit a tree. I can't rememeber the numbers though. Good Luck and have fun! If you have any questions about the area don't hesititate to ask, we are down there almost every weekend!

Thanks for the info. My 5th wheel is close to 40 feet in length and I know I don't want to be scratching it up. Do you think I'd fit, or should I not even try going there?

Ours is 33 feet we had no trouble in that one area I had mentioned, but you will not be able to get it through the center loop. Try giving the park a call to see if they can accomadate it. The other one to try is Long Point PP. It's hard to get into (Very popular and books quick) and not much privacy, but the beach is amazing and all the trailer sites are pull through. It's 20 min west of Turkey Point. I can reccommend some spots there if you are interested. Or Bacus Conservation Area. IT's inbetween Long Point and Turkey Point outside of Port Rowan. Neat spot with a pioneer village in it.
Good Luck!
