I need to know the length of the show. I heard it was 4 hours long during previews but is now cut down some and not as long. Anyone been since opening night? I have tickets for a 1pm show and think it would be cheaper to take the train there and home than to drive and spend the night in downtown Toronto. But if it runs any longer than 3 1/2 hours we'll miss the last train out. I guess I can call the theatre directly, but just wondering if anyone knows.

I went to opening night...it was very long, but amazing. :thumbsup2
Show started at 6:30pm and ended at 10pm with 2 very short intermissions.

I still wish I was a hobbit.... always wanted to be one as a kid!
It is 3.5 hours long with 2 15-minute intermissions. You can park off Wellington behind Roy Thompson hall for $5 or $6! Go early to see the hobbits running around! :teeth:
have fun!

I saw it too... Intermission 1 is 15 minutes, intermission 2 is 10 minutes. If you're a woman and you have to use the restroom, knock over other patrons and run otherwise the courtesy ding to come back to your seats will be going off while you're stil in line and still have to go!

Other tip for that theatre - DON'T EVER book first row balcony seats - you'll have a railing right in your line of sight unless you are shorter than 5 feet or taller than 6'2. I had the worst back ache after slouching and leaning to see the show.

Oh, so they cut out an intermission!

We saw it during previews! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Yes, make sure you get there early to catch the "preshow"!

If you don't do anything during intermission, at least stand up!

Long but well worth seeing!

Oh no, we have first row dress circle seats and neither my daughter nor myself are under 5 ft or over 6 ft!!!

I'm glad you guys told me about the pre-show - I love the hobbits and will definitely arrive early to see them. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think you should be okay with dress circle... it's the next level up (balcony)to watch out for.

I'm going to see LOTR on the 21st, good to know about the pre-show. :thumbsup2
