OT - Anyone been to Kalahari Indoor Waterpark?

Thinking of driving to Sandusky Ohio (from the Toronto area) to the Kalahari Indoor Waterpark resort on Canadian Thanksgiving weekend.

Anyone been there before?

We'll drive through Detroit on the way there but if we drove through Ohio/Pennsylvania/Buffalo route the way home, is there any good shopping? I heard the Erie, Pennsylvania has good outlet malls????

It is AWESOME!! We are HUGE waterpark folks. DS5 and DD9 as well as their cousins 9 &12 LOVED it, much better than Great Wolf. And the price is much better. Lots of resturants close by (and the Sandusky mall is 2 mins, as well as Target, Walmart, Meijer, Old Navy....). We are going again this year!

We haven't been - but a friend of mine went to the one in Sandusky with her family and they loved it.

We went last summer and it was AWESOME!

My kids are 8 and 14.

The waterpark was great.

The resort is GORGEOUS!

My dd's fav thing was being about to sit up front with the horse and buggy guy and work the horse! FUN FUN FUN!

August 2007 is when went went to Kalahari and loved it. It's well worth a week-end trip.

During our visit the resort was in the middle of a huge expansion to the water park. Don't miss the flow rider and the new wave pool.


Try out the Buffalo Wild Wings eatery just down the road. A huge selection of sauces for you wings/ribs. We like the Caribbean Jerk and Mango Habanero sauces.

We went for March Break this year (2nights/3 days) and had a blast! The renovations were done and there was a lot to do! We had kids ranging from 2.5 to 10 and they all had fun! The food onsite wasn't very good though and after the first night we drove down the road to eat dinner. (there are several chain restaurants, more hotels and a mall about 5 min away)
