Just wanted to update: I talked with the manager of the hotel and he agreed to give us a FULL refund! I am so impressed with the customer service of this hotel. This type of situation definately makes me a loyal customer!
This has nothing to do with Disney, but I was wondering if anyone had ever had any luck in this type of situation.
Each July, 9 of us in our family go to St. Louis for a few days. We stay at the Holiday Inn Six Flags in Eureka, MO. This is our 5th year in a row making this trip. we have booked an internet only rate that cannot be cancelled and we had to pre-pay the entire stay (over $900 total!)
On Sunday, my 14 year old niece fell from a zipline and broke her right wrist AND her left elbow and dislocated the growth plate in her left arm. she is still in the hospital as the left arm has swelled so much and she has lost feeling in some of her fingers. (as if it isn't rare enough for a kid to break both arms at once, my own daughter did it two months ago! yes, we are a weird (and klutzy) family!)
Anyway, since we are supposed to go on this trip next week, we obviously cannot go now. I am hoping we can get a credit or something so that we can use the rooms either next summer or even this fall when her casts come off. It's really not a possibility for some of us to go as the whole point is a family vacation.
Has anybody ever had anything like this happen? Was the hotel willing to work with you? We cannot afford to throw away $900 on hotel rooms, but for obvious reasons this trip is out for now.
Sorry to ramble...just looking for some advice, I guess.
