Yes, I do like it. I have been an admin for 10 years and every day is different. Being customer-service oriented, a problem solver, and an organizer are the top three qualities that I use on a regular basis. Depending on your position, you may also need advanced skills in computer programs, both run-of-the-mill and specialized for your area. Make sure that your grammar and basic math skills are good to go, too.
If you know a secretary at the school, call and ask him/her what her daily routine entails as well as challenges that he/she face on the job. I have found that asking these questions to an insider is invaluable in applying for a position.
