I'll definately agree with the posters that say have the allergist put the cream on at the end if they have it to stop the itching. My allergist did this with my second child tested, but not the first. It made a big difference. Also, have some at home ready to reapply (or apply at the office for yourself if they don't have it). A spray bottle of Benydryl kept cold in the frig. is also great relief!
Some of the scratch tests for my second child tested were inconclusive...they wanted to do the under the skin needle thing. I said no thanks, she's allergic to everything else and has to be on allergy medicine anyway, so why put her through it. I just didn't feel the need to have it be that awful, which it would have been.
