Does anyone know of any all inclusive vacation packages that fly out of Buffalo? It is my DH and my 10 year anniversary next year and we would like to go somewhere just the 2 of us and it is so much cheaper to fly out of Buffalo rather than Toronto.....Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

In my experience, it is better to go with an all inclusive from YYZ. If you travel out of BUF you will have at least one connection to make and the flight will end up being and entire day. In general Americans are not that into the all inclusive so prices and packages tend to be better from YYZ.

Canadian tour operators have some really awesome deals for all-inclusive packages this fall and winter. Top brands and sun drenched destinations. You should really check it out!

Ditto that......I should have also added that I have already been stalking the March Break deals. There are some excellent deals out there right now for the fall going thru January. There are always sell offs and promos available. I often recommend that people book outside dates at work for the time off, if that is an issue, and then see what pops up. Often the Tueday departures are the best price.

There a couple of times of year that are particularly good in terms of prices. If you are wanting a winter getaway the first 2 weeks of January are good. The other 2 times are from the end of September to the mid November and then again around June. I have recently seen 4 star properties come up for $200-300 plus taxes. Also, the last 3-4 years the tour operators have had Boxing week promos. Watch for that starting around Dec. 23. They have offered dates into February. A couple of years ago we booked one of those deals and went to the Dominican Republic for $2800....that was 4 adults in 2 rooms.

You can check this one out as well. Lots of links from Travelzoo USA to this site for cheap carribean vacations.

I'm not sure where you're going but you could try www.southwestvacations.com out of Buffalo.

Interestingly enough I just checked this out for doing a Disney vacay. And it turns out there was availability at CSR the resort that I am staying at, in fact the one I am trying find an additional night at. Now this normally wouldn't be all that interesting .. but according to Disney's reservation system, phone and online, they are fully booked.

Do you think SW would purchase a block of rooms for resale purposes? What would happen if they didn't sell them off? Would they go back to Disney or would they be left unoccupied?

Canadian tour operators also have various packages to Disney as well for free dining, and discounted room rates.

Also if you're interested in going to Cuba you would have to go from a Canadian airport.

I use a travel agent in the US that works for Carlson Wagolit. You could always call a travel agent in the US to find out.

We also met a lot of people from the US when we used to go to Dominican all the time & actually met a couple from the US in Cuba once but they travelled out of Canada to get their flight (They were from Niagara Falls) so Americans do book all inclusives.

Sometimes company's buy rooms (or packages) to sell & get a kickback or sell for more than they bought them for. My inlaws tried to book a room somewhere in Niagara Falls US in August & was told they were full by the hotel's reservation #. They checked out hotels.com & sure enough there was availabitlity on the website & when they called the hotel to ask they were told that the rooms are bought at discount from these companies & are resold so they booked thru hotels.com instead of the hotel directly.

The last two years we have had VERY good luck with prices booking out of BUF (saving us at least $1500 each year over YYZ pricing). But as one poster mentioned flying from BUF there are NO non-stops. But if you can get a 6 am flight out of BUF you will be at your destination by early afternoon.
Last year we booked with funjet.com and this year orbitz.com staying just under two weeks in the Mayan Riveria Mexico ( 5 star AIs each time). For the four of us ( 2 adults, 1 teenager, 1 child) the price was between $2500-$3000 taxes in. Taxes on the packages are far less out of BUF as well compared to $200-$300 pp out of YYZ.

We have been to AIs 13 times in Mexico/Caribbean and wish I knew about the BUF options years ago.
