We are going to WDW next New Years and need to figure out when to fly down and still see some Christmas decorations. When do they take down the Osborne lights? Are they still up now?

We are going to WDW next New Years and need to figure out when to fly down and still see some Christmas decorations. When do they take down the Osborne lights? Are they still up now?

The dates for the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights this season are November 7, 2014 through January 4, 2015.

For a year from now, nobody can say with certainty if the lights will return. There are strong rumors that significant changes are coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios -- with major demolition and construction. Already, several attractions have closed permanently. The Streets of America section is underutilized and could be put to better use.

However, the lights are very popular with guests, so they'll probably survive in some form, even if the Streets of America section does not.

When the backlot residential street was eliminated, the lights moved to the Streets of America. So there's precedent for moving the lights to a new location.
