Osborne lights January 2nd??

So I'm reading so many horrible things about going to the lights on its last days. We will be here the 2nd, does anyone have any input on the best time to see the lights we have an adr at 7:15 at scifi and my original plan was coming in at maybe 5 or 6. (On the bus) and doing some rides and then the lights before our ADR. I believe the park closes at 10 so we could also do them after our ADR what do you guys think?

Wondering the same. We don't have an ADR that night 'cuz I wasn't sure if we'd really have time but we arrive that day (s/b at our resort around 4:00). I planned FP's for TOT first thing (5:05-6:05) then TSMM from 6:20-7:20 thinking we'd work our way over to the lights after that. I put a ST FP last from 8:55-9:55 thinking we'd hit that on our way out & that we'd just wing it for dinner. I hate the CS options at HS but figured I should suck it up that night bcuz of the crowds…. But I've read some crazy stories about even trying to GET to HS. Wondering if we should get creative and go to BCV & walk from there or something or to the back exit from Epcot & take the boat? OY!!

I think if were you I'd go straight back to the lights then head to Sci Fi

Be prepared for huge crowds and long lines. Every day as of late the parking lot has been filled by the early afternoon and people have been told to park at Epcot and AK then shuttle over. You're taking the bus so that's good. However being the last day for the lights and just how crowded the park has been lately. I would really try to get to the park a lot earlier than 5 or 6. There's no telling how many people will be there for the final night (I'll be there), so you don't want to risk the park being closed for capacity.

If you don't care about seeing the lights right when they're turned on at about 6pm, then I'd wait to see them after your dinner. Let some of the people clear out a little and check them out closer to park closing. It'll still be packed, but maybe not as packed as right when their turned on.
