Hi DISers!
I"m in midst of planning the mega-nerd-April trip, (Cherry Blossoms, World Expo, Disney, and Star Wars,) OH MY! My anticipated dates for Disney was April 14-17. I figured I needed at least four days to do Disney to maximize possibilities to see the nighttime shows, parades and stage shows.
I bought the Super Early Bird pass for the World Expo (like a World's Fair), which opens April 13. However, it looks like I can't actually book for opening day, April 13, and the only viable reservation days are April 14 and onward. This throws my Disney plans in a kerfuffle!!
It might mean that I do Disney in two parts: April 12-13 Sat/Sun, then travel by train to Osaka on April 14 Mon, then back to Disney April 15-16 tues-wed. I have a half day 17thurs planned for part Disney/ part Star Wars celebration will call queue. I'd prob keep my lodging somewhere at Tokyo Bay, rather than split stay in Osaka.
- Is it reasonable to take the train from the Tokyo Bay/Disney area to Osaka early morning?
- I'm not a fan of being at Tokyo Disney for the weekend, but would a weekend vacation package mitigate the long lines/ time waiting because of the extra crowds?
I'm not sure that a split Disney trip is a good idea, but I'm trying to balance seeing cherry blossoms in Kyoto (about 2-3 days), Disney (four days), World Expo (one day). I fly in April 5th and fly out right after Star Wars Celebration (April 17 ticket pick up). Would love to hear your ideas. Maybe there's a way of looking at the dates in a differently. Thanks!!
