I mentioned I would give you my opinion on the grits trial when I was sufficiently recovered from my laughter. I am in agreement with you and Stephanie, try the grits with simple preparation. I usually just add salt and butter. To me the texture in the grits casserole dish would be more paste like,rendering them into what I don't like in grits, a more lumpy substance.

In a pinch, I have had a bowl of grits, on the thin side, with the bacon crumbled into them and my scrambled eggs mixed in as well. In this method, the grits work as a type of glue(in a good way) for the eggs and bacon.

Gah, now I want some grits!!

I want to see if the USPS can deliver in the time frame that they say they will. Once it's over the border in the hands of snow dogs and sleds to of course deliver to your igloo, well who knows when it will get there?

Let's see Nebo and Smidgy have gone back to the world again, T-man had a birthday (also need to get caught up on their report if it is still there, Ponzie passed out candy (really sad about missing the candy ;( and we have a new guy who claims to only post monthly but his posts are perfect for this thread and I do hope to see more of them. Oh and Ponzie is heading over to Europe with his lovely ladies and has started a thread somewhere else around here? Are there cookies on that one this time? I know I have left a bunch out but I will be in the loop much better if I get caught up and while our fearless leaders are still away when I do get caught up I shall join in on the running amock and if I can figure out how to post pics here I "ll even post a pic or two or three of the new granddaughter. I'm a huge cookbook fanatic, so in December, we found a Disney cookbook, that has tons of recipes from all the different restaurants, and from some old restaurants no longer around. One of the recipes, happened to be the Cheddar Cheese Beer soup from LC. I've made it once so far, and it was to die for. The only thing that would have made it better was to have the pretzel bread. T-Man has found a recipe for that too. I haven't tried to make it yet. I'm a little scared to make bread.

T-man's wife any chance of sharing that recipe>>> I promise to rush over to your tr and catchup first thing after work tomorrow. (hard to pass that on up huh? all together now "ooohhh""ahhhh"

you dared to make the soup from LC? I looked at the recipe and it scared me off, so many ingredients. I made the mushroom risotto a couple of times, but that takes forever, scooping and stirring. Tasted great, but it broke my back

Yes to Europe (3 months to go today!), but no to another thread. I'm just not big into PTRs. "This is what we're gonna do, and when and where...."

And yes you have to put the pics in photobucket or any host service first. After you upload them to PBucket (or wherever), copy the link to the picture. Return to the DIS, reply to a thread like you normally do and where you want your picture to go, click the icon that looks like a mountain with a sun or moon and paste in the link. The link should start with "http://"

Parts of Iowa were covered with six inches overnight. Looking out my window it's sleeting/snowing right now. I can't imagine being any more north and having snow so often!! I've always thought those that live in Alaska just have to be hardy stock to cope with all the snow. Guess that goes for Canadians too!
