Taking an extended family trip to WDW this summer. Some of the family may be flying into Orlando/Sanford airport. I've mapquested it and it appears to be about an hour away. Just curious, do they have car rental places at that airport? Also, are their hotels close to that airport? Our reservations are through Friday at Disney, but several won't be flying out until Saturday. Just curious if it's a big enough airport or not.

The Sanford airport (SFB) has all the major car rental companies on site. Hotels are nearby. Think of SFB as a much smaller version of any major airport in terms of size and not in terms of facilities offered. The airport has a website, google for it.

Flown into SFB 4 times. Have a great trip.:cool1:

The closest hotel is about 3 miles away. It is the Holiday Inn Express on Orlando Drive. They have a shuttle back and forth from the hotel.

Any idea what it might cost to get a ride from SFB to WDW? We will have our van and can pick up 7 relatives, but there's a chance that more will be flying. If they don't decided to rent a car - can you do a towncar or something like they have at MCO? I think if we had to make two trips to the airport from the Beach Club - we'd likely spend about 5 hours shuttling people. Not my idea of a vacation - even if I do love my family!

If you're all at BC, they can rent a car from National or Alamo and drop it off at the Dolphin. A one-way rental was about $40 for us. After you unload your luggage and check in, someone can drive around the block to the Dolphin and walk through the lobby to get back to BC.
