We were originally scheduled for a beach/Disney vacation this week. We rescheduled for the 3rd week of June. The current plan is to spend 4-5 nights at the beach and then 1-2 nights in Orlando. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids age 11-17. We have only stayed at Disney resorts in Orlando so my head is swirling tying to come up with an alternative. Preference would be a hotel with a couple waterslides to suit older kids and a lazy river. Nothing too huge that it feels overwhelming since this will be a short trip--something similar to Beach Club. Any recommendations? Any Universal Hotels we should consider (never been to Universal)? If we did a Universal Hotel how does City Walk compare to Disney Springs? Thank you!

We just cancelled our late June DVC reservations and replaced them with a stay at the Regal Palms Resort, which has a waterpark with lazy river. We were also considering the Liki Tiki Village (no lazy river but lots of slides and paddle boats and surrey bikes and and and...) but our group will be 9 people and Regal Palms had a bigger space for similar price.

You might want to check out Margaritaville. They have a more affordable new water park adjacent to their resort (H20 Live!). It's not close to Universal if that is your goal.
