I live in Oregon so I am used to rain... But what exactly does "rain" mean? And "possible thunderstorms"? Here, when it rains, it rains! And the thunderstorms knock out the power and it is very cold. We are going to be in Orlando Jan 31- Feb 6th. The weather doens't look to good. I would really appreciate any advice on the weather you can give. Thanks!

I answered this on the other board, but just in case you check here first, I reccommend you treat it just as you would at home. This time of year, rain is normal rain. Its not until summer when you could get on a ride in the bright sunshine and come out to a soaked stroller....

Our family went to Disney two years ago. We went the week of January 11th.
I have to admit I was a little nervous about the weather this time of the year because I know the temperatures go up and down. :confused3 Not that we could complain about the temperature in Florida because we flew out of Detroit on January 10th and it was 2 degrees!! I'm happy to report when we landed in Orlando, it was about 2:00 in the afternoon and it was 78 degrees and sunny!:yay: Besides the day we landed, the temperature never dipped below 80 degrees!! :cool1: I packed for everything, but I can tell you that we did where hooded sweatshirts at night (with our shorts!!) because it got a little cooler at night.

The day we flew home, it poured rain (the only rainy day of our trip). :sad2: It made leaving Disney seem not so sad.... because none of us wanted to leave, as it was our first trip.

Hope this helps and have a fun, fun time!!

We are going 2/1 - 2/6 our first trip with a baby and I agree it's not looking too great. Looks better now than it did 2 days ago! I'm not as worried about "scattered showers" because that usually means brief periods of rain but I'm not liking when the only description listed is just flat out "rain." I now have Plan A itinerary and Plan B itinerary because of rain!

My Grandmother, who lived in Altamonte (about 30 -45 min from WDW), always said "if you come to Florida and you don't like the rain, drive 5 miles or wait 15 mins. It will pass." I found her to be mostly right. Unless it said rain all day, of course. But since it will be Feb soon, make sure you take sweaters or sweatshirts, nights do cool off! And cool off quickly!!

We went once in October and it was in the 80s. We brought t-shirts and shorts. Then it rained and it was freezing! We had to go buy jackets! I guess just be prepared for anything.
