I will be attending a conference in Orlando at the TD Waterhouse Center Feb 6-8/03. Could anyone tell me where this is? Is there a hotel within walking distance? Would a shuttle say Tiffany Town Car be a good option for me to use? Is this close to any attractions? Thank you in advance for any information you can provide!

TD Waterhouse Center is in downtown Orlando. It is not an area conducive to walking, but there is a nearby Holiday Inn.

It is not really near to the attractions. You'll be about 1/2 hr from WDW (traffic can make this longer) and about 15 min from Universal. It is JUST west of I-4.

You ask about transport as an option, but an option for what? Coming from the airport? Moving about the city? Going to the attractions?

T.D. Waterhouse is not in an area that has many options for dining so keep that in mind when you make your reservations. You may want to consider renting a car and staying mor toward the attraction area and driving into the center.

Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for your reply. How close would the Holiday Inn be from the Waterhouse Center? Is there a specific name for that Holiday Inn? Would you consider it safe to walk at night (between 10:00pm-11:00pm)alone from the Center to the Holiday Inn? I am wondering about taking TTC from and to the airport. How great of a distance is it? Do you know the cost? I may be travelling alone. Renting a car is not an option for me. Again, thanks for your help.

Seems like I read that the Westin Grand Bohemian Hotel was right across the street (I could be wrong). You could do a search for that hotel on the net (they are in with Grand THeme hotels) and see if it tells you. Being a luxury hotel, they could help with all transportation issues.

I have no idea what the cost would be for the Holiday Inn. A check of their website or a phone call to their 800 number should get you good info. I believe the street address is Hughey Ave. (Hard to tell as it's on a corner).

NO!! NO!! NO!! Absolutely DO NOT walk from the T. D. Waterhouse to anywhere at that time of night. This is a pretty "bad" section of town (I really dislike that expression but have no other way to express it) and you run a real risk of bing accosted of you walk there before sunup or after sundown. You'll probably be "approached" if you attempted to walk in this area during the day.

The Holiday Inn is quite close so cab fare would be nominal. Since driving is not an option, bring many extra dollars for cab fare. There is a public bus service, Lynx, but the route map is almost impossible to decipher! However, the bus drivers are reportedly very helpful.

Hope this helps a bit. Sorry I don't have more specifics for you.

Hi.

I saw the Boss at the T.D Waterhouse Center last week. I seem to remember a large Marriot just across from the venue. I stayed on I-drive which is 15 minutes or so south. The arena is very easy to drive too - make a left at the bottom of the exit ramp from I-4 and you are there. There is plenty of cheap parking here. Is hiring a car an option for you? If so you could stay further afield and really feel like you were on vacation!

The area looked O.K to me but I bow to the local knowledge already posted.

Barry.
