Has anyone ever arrived late, and stayed at the Airport? I was wondering what rate others have gotten (we will be arriving March 24th around 11pm). I have the entertainment book. Thanks for the help!!!

He was in Orlando last January and needed just one night and would be flying out the next morning. We decided to try Priceline and bid $50. Believe it or not he got it. He said it was nice and quiet too.

Since my husband isn't a good flyer, we normally stay at the airport so we can catch the first flight of the morning. I normally book through their website & take the least expense rate there. Since I'm a travel agent, I think of it as paying myself! :teeth:

We've had both interior & exterior view rooms & believe it or not, the interior views were noisier! I never realized it, but the fountain in the middle of the concourse is on ALL NIGHT LONG! We'll definitely request an exterior view from now on!

I would do the research and try to get a room throught Priceline or Hotwire. I think Priceline is cheaper, but with Hotwire you will have a better idea about things upfront. I got the Orlando Marriott Airport location from Hotwire for $50/night for one night last month. I'm sure I could have gotten something (maybe even the same thing) cheaper through Priceline, but at that time I was too squeamish to try. Just do the research and know up front what you are doing at the sites that explain how to --better bidding, and bidding for travel. They are such great helps for this!

Good luck!

BTW, my room at the Marriott was beautiful! There is an indoor/outdoor heated pool, a hot tub, and a kiddie pool as well there. There is also a coffee maker in the room.

If you consult biddingfortravel.com you can gauge the prices of Orlando airport hotels and get advice on bids for your dates. I've had really good luck on them for business trip--$28 Charlotte Hyatt, $40 San Franciso Sheraton, $42 for Holiday Inn London Heathrow.

Have a great trip.

Before we moved to Orlando, we would usually get an early evening flight (arriving about 10:00) to Orlando. JudySue would go to the Airport Hyatt Regency with the carry-on luggage, check in, go to the room, and call room service to order our dinner. I would go to baggage claim, get the suitcases, go to the front desk and identify meyself, getting another room key and the room number. Usually dinner came a few minutes after I got to the room.

In the morning we would have breakfast (dressing for the parks). Judy would go back to the room and pack while I went to the car rental counter. I would go to the hotel's valet parking, telling them that I was just checking out and getting the luggage so they would keep the car in that area instead of the normal storage area. I would then go to the front desk to check out and go to the room, get Judy and the luggage, and go back down to the valet parking. We would then go to WDW, check in to the hotel. If our room was not ready we would drop the bags and head for a park.

We were almost always able to get a discounted room at the Hyatt. If not a government rate, then AAA. Only one time were we unable to get a room at the Hyatt, and then we went to the Marriott, which was more complicated as it was not in the terminal.

We had a late flight going in and an early flight going out in 2000. This hotel was a Godsend.

Especially checking out the next morning - the bellhop picked up our luggage and walked us to the United counter. Two thumbs way way up!
