Oregon to WDW Will Be Quite the Adventure~Going LIVE!!

Yeah, my "kid" is now over 6 foot! LOL Adding our meet to our plans as well! Happy we can squeeze in time to at least cross paths! Truth be told DS would probably rather go to Kona with you all for tonga toast but alas I am dragging him to DHS because I want pictures with the characters in the 40's attire! :rotfl2:

6 foot....wowsers! I'm excited we get to see you again!! lol.....the tonga toast does call to you!!

Nice line up of FP+ So cool you get to ride 7DMT three times!!!! We only had a one park a day for four days, so we only did it once, but we loved it! Just a little too short. AND if you have Photopass, you get to be featured in a video of your ride!

Thanks! We have the Memory Maker purchased already....I didn't know they did videos!!! How exciting!!

Hearing about the video on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train made me wonder......what exactly does Memory Maker get us? Does someone have a link to all the rides, meals & videos we can get with this? Also, is this all linked to the MagicBands?

One more question since I have your attention........ I purchased our 8 day tickets and they sent me the plastic cards, but aren't these linked to our MagicBands? All the information is showing on My Disney Experience. Just wondering if we need to take these plastic tickets with us??

These are all SUPER great questions, simply because I don't know either and need to. I'm anxious for the answers you get here!

:jumping1: Doing the happy dance.......we have both rooms with the regular dining plan added totally PAID OFF!!!!!!! :jumping1:

PS: We're 50 days from leaving home for our trip and 51 days until we are on WDW property!!! This is really happening!!!

The ride photos and videos will automatically be uploaded by wearing your magic band. You don't have to do anything if you bought the Memory Maker. Did you get your Magic Bands yet? I am not sure what to do with the plastic cards unless you already got the magic bands. I believe there is a place on My Disney Experience where you can link the passes. Just make sure you don't add a childrens admission to an adult Magic Band. Hopefully, your son has more information. There might be more instructions. IIt wouldn't hurt to call and ask Disney.

As far as Photopass photographers, when we were there last summer, we still had to have them scan our Magic Band. Although it could be anyone in the group that they scanned, so there was some fighting amongst the kids which of them would get to have theirs scanned.

We ordered the Memory Maker and have customized our MagicBands. I did read that you should always "tap" your MagicBand before leaving, just in case. We have everything linked on our My Disney Experience. Right now it shows 2 of our girls as children because they are still 9 but they will be 10 on the trip. Hopefully that will switch before the trip. I made all reservations with the ages they WILL be, but like the dining shows us as 4 adults & 4 children, even though I made the reservation for 6 adults & 2 children. :confused3 I had to call in for the CRT & Wishes Dessert Party because it kept going to the 4 & 4 and didn't want there to be issues after we got there.

I did find out that if we split apart that I will have to go back to any of the attractions that offer the on-ride picture so it can get added to our acct. I was hoping anyone connected on the MDE would have been able to do that. That makes it kind of a pain! :sad2:

The kids went on rides without me (like Tower of Terror) and I never had to go back and add them. You used to have to do that before Magic Bands. The kids even went without me for a few hours and it was fun seeing all the pictures of stuff they were up to without me.

The only ride videos I know of are for Tower of Terror and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, but I believe they have added Test Track, but I am not positive on that.

Oh, and before we went, My Disney Experience showed that we each had 2 sets of tickets per person. It was all correct when we got there, but there were definitely some glitches on the website.

I am sure all of your reservations and tickets will be fine. Do they turn 10 during the trip or before they get there? Just curious. I believe the price is based on age at time of check in.

Laurie,
It's so much another set of rules for planning for WDW than for DLR. I love the planning process so much.

Well I would think that the MagicBands that are tied together would be able to do that on the rides (if separated) but according to the FAQ on Memory Maker, it says the only one that can add them is the person the Memory Maker is assigned to (and you can only assign to one person) but you have 24 hrs to go back to the picture place for the ride to add it. Seems crazy!

I hadn't heard about Test Track for the videos but there was talk that maybe the Haunted Mansion might be added.

They turn 10 prior to the trip (one at the end of this month & one 11 days later in July). So we purchased knowing they would be considered a "Disney Adult". But since we have birthdays in their profiles, right now it shows them as children.

Lots more to do prior to vacationing her for sure Michele! If you don't do the pre-trip planning, you will find yourself not enjoying the experience too much. You can wing Disneyland (not advisable during busy times) but I wouldn't suggest doing that for WDW.

The girls and I are diligently planning our Disneyland trip. We have Dapper Day and bows and stuff to plan plus at least some meals.

It will be busy with it being Dapper Days, so planning is needed....especially if there are some sit downs you want to do.

Probably just Carnation Cafe and Cafe Orleans. We bantered about thoughts of going to a character meal but, decided against it.

Keep in mind if you want to see Fantasmic that you pretty much need to do a dinner package to see it. (same as WoC)
